To date, about 4000 kind of applications for wood were found. This valuable material is like an ocean which human has only recognized a knuckle of its values. The main use of wood is in furniture industry with almost 160 related occupations. Existing stone inscriptions before Islam from Achaemenid and Sassanid Empires indicate Iranian’s use of furniture. These inscriptions show that chairs’ seats were covered and their wooden components were wood turned. In Achaemenid Empire, wood usage by Iranian got bold and stone inscriptions of Persepolis indicate usage of Cedar wood in palaces’ decoration.
